How to Distinguish the Quality of LED Unit Board?

This technical article introduces the measures to distinguish the quality of LED board.

1. Panel of LED board: To compete with low price, some LED unit board manufacturer uses cheap flame retardant paper board or single fiber board as the LED PCB circuit board. This is because all-fiberglass PCB is too expensive. It cannot be seen a difference from the beginning, usually within a year it will break because of the effect of damp, ultraviolet light, oxidation and other reasons, which may scrap the whole LED unit board. High quality LED unit board must use double full fiberglass PCB board, although the cost is high, the quality is guaranteed.
2. IC: Observe whether the brand of IC device used is consistent. The type and amount of IC will affect the quality of the board. Some people would deliberately reduce the number of IC during production in order to save the cost, or with some other brand IC.
3. LED beads and chips: Seeing with our eyes is unable to distinguish the quality of lamp bead. It can only rely on the long time test, which is aging test. Generally small workshops will check the LED display is able to function properly before they leave the factory, which is not a long time aging test. Because they can't afford the time and manpower cost.
Inspection methods: 
1. Inspect the appearance quality of selected materials
1) PCB panel and processing quality;
2) IC device brand and consistency;
3) Lighting lattice quality.
2. Inspect the circuit design specifications and if the PCB wiring is conformed to LED requirements.
3. Inspect welding quality
Check whether there is patch components, wrong posts leakage, or a component pin burr short-circuit phenomenon. Check if the direct plug-in solder joints is smooth, board face is clean and tidy, and no welding leakage. Inspect the flatness of light lattice and the ink color consistency.
4. Power-on test
1) The consistency of lighting lattice;
2) Whether there is effective protection for driving tube CEM4953;
3) Signal transmission ability.
